Papers: John Pritchard, Mariner

PAPERS: Belonging to John Pritchard, mariner.

These include a copy of his baptism from Llechylched parish register which gives his place of abode as Bryngwran 1836, and a certificate of his marriage to Mary Parry in Dwyran chapel 1865.

There are a number of testimonials as to his industry, sobriety and honesty 1864 - 1871, a list of the ships he served on from 1854 - 1861 issued by the General Register and Record Office of Seamen, and a bundle of certificates of discharge 1861 - 1878 which also testify to his good conduct and ability as a seaman.

John Pritchard was baptised in Llechylched on December 11th 1836. He married Mary Parry in June 1865. He was away at sea through the 1860s and 1870s sailing around the UK and to ports at Hamberg and San Fransisco.
