This collection consists of printed engravings taken from portraits or photographs, featuring a range of prominent British figures from titled and landed gentry to those who held church office. Individuals featured include King Edward VI; King Henry VIII; Queen Catherine Parr; Queen Jane Seymour; Thomas Cromwell, Earl of Essex; John Dudley, Duke of Northumberland; Edward Courtenay, Earl of Devonshire and Thomas Howard, Earl of Norfolk. Churchmen featured include Cardinal Beatoun, Cardinal Pole and Thomas Cranmer, Archbishop of Canterbury and other less well known figures.

Administrative / Biographical History
Owen Gaianydd Williams (1865-1928) of Anglesey, Gwynedd, Calvinistic Methodist minister, author and collector of artistic and literary works, owned these engravings. His daughter, Mrs Mair Fogg, wife of Gordon Elliot Fogg who was formerly Professor of Marine Biology at the University of Wales, Bangor, presented them to the university archive.
