Administrative / Biographical History
William H. Reese (b. 1908) was born in Blaenau Ffestiniog, Merionethshire. He worked there in Votty Quarry until the late 1930s, when he married and went to live with his wife in Durham, returning to Blaenau Ffestiniog some 35 years later. He was a poet and published several volumes, including Y Ddau Lais (London, 1937), Medi'r Corwynt: Cerddi'r Rhyfel 1938-43 (Blaenau Ffestiniog, 1943) and Y Cerddi Olaf (1944). He later produced Y Llais yn ôl (Pen-y-groes, Gwynedd, 1982). His other interests included history, the Welsh language and religion.
