Administrative / Biographical History
John M. Machover, b. 1880 at Mogilev, Russia, a Zionist leader and lawyer, came to London in 1920. He was a member of the World Union of Zionist Revisionists (part of the World Zionist Organisation) and subsequently of the Jewish State Party, becoming a member of its World Executive and chair of the party in Great Britain. He was also a member of the Board of Deputies of British Jews and Vice Chairman of the Federation of Jewish Relief Organisations. His publications include GOVERNING PALESTINE: THE CASE AGAINST A PARLIAMENT (London, 1936) and JEWISH STATE OR GHETTO: DANGERS OF PALESTINE PARTITION: ROYAL COMMISSION'S PROPOSALS EXAMINED (London, 1937)
