East of Scotland Brass Founders' Society

Rule Book, 1918

The Union was founded in 1857 and was formerly known as the Edinburgh and Leith Association of Brass Founders. The Union had 650 members by the early 20th century and was a founding member of the Federation of Engineering and Shipbuilding Trades. The Union merged with the Amalgamated Society of Engineers in 1920.

Most of the Records came from the Amalgamated Union of Engineering Workers (Engineering Section). The first deposits were made in 1984 with further deposits made up to 1997.
