Administrative / Biographical History

The donor's family has occupied Goss Hall since 1817. Before 1880 the family had certain non-farming interests, mainly in land agency and survey work. John Coleman, mentioned in the records, was Tithe Surveyor for many parishes in north-east Kent

Farm size: circa 345 acres; mixed medium loam soils with some marsh land; tenants to the Marquis of Conyngham
