Scope and Content

Publishing Board Meetings are attended by the Director, Head of Trading, Head of Publications, Managing Editor, Head of Exhibitions and Collections, Head of Research Programmes and one Trustee.

The aim of the Publishing Board, as recorded in the first meeting in 2010, is to be an internal group that advises on whether to publish titles or new series; give advice on the authors and writers the Gallery commissions; review and prioritise publishing opportunities; share an understanding of budgetary issues; and discuss and advise on the publishing programme regularly.

Meetings are held twice a year (in mid-May after the London Book Fair and late October after the Frankfurt Book Fair) with regular email communication between meetings. All meetings are minuted.

Administrative / Biographical History

The Publishing Board was established in 2010 and was constituted as one of two groups to replace the Editorial Advisory Board (EAB).
