Administrative / Biographical History

The Tredegar Working Men's Medical Aid Society, Monmouthshire, was developed from the existing Doctor and School Fund, mostly through the work of its secretary, Walter Conway (d.1933) during the 1890s. The Society provided medical treatment for workmen in exchange for a weekly donation from their wages.
