Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
The Plastirion estate included land in the parishes of Llanrug, Llanwnda and Llandwrog, Caernarfonshire. During the 19th and 20th centuries the estate was held by the Rowlands family. General Sir Hugh Rowlands (1827-1909) was the second son of John Rowland and the last male descendent to inherit the estate and reside in the Plastirion mansion in Llanrug before the estate was broken up in 1918.
