Administrative / Biographical History
In October 1904 the Librarian of the Royal Colonial Institute sent circulars to all the Empire territories requesting a copy of their seal and coat of arms. Fifty-eight replies were received, some including an impression of the seal (Canada and Tasmania sent full-sized wax impressions), and others including specially-made drawings.
