Administrative / Biographical History
Caerleon Local Board was an urban sanitary authority created in Caerleon, Monmouthshire, as a result of the Public Health Act 1872. The Board was responsible for various aspects of public health including sewerage, street cleaning and highways. In 1894 the Local Board became Caerleon Urban District Council.
