Administrative / Biographical History

Formed in 1936 by an amalgamation between the National Union of Textile Workers, the Amalgamated Society of Dyers, Bleachers and Kindred Trades and the Operative Bleachers, Dyers and Finishers, Bolton Amalgamation. After absorbing several local associations between 1979 and 1981 it merged into the Transport and General Workers Union on 1 Mar 1982
