Administrative / Biographical History

Charles Frederick Cunningham Macaskie (1888-1969) was called to the bar through Gray's Inn, entered North Borneo in 1910 and served in the First World War in the Royal West Kent Regiment. He was Chief Justice and Deputy Governor, North Borneo, 1934-1945, Brigadier and Chief Civil Affairs Officer, British North Borneo, 1945-1946 and Commissioner for War Damage Claims, Borneo Territories, 1947-1951. He held the position of Acting British Judge, New Hebrides in 1955, 1958 and 1959. 1n 1946 he married D. Cole-Adams, daughter of W.H. Legg.
