This series of volumes and files comprise inward and outward correspondence books related to the Shanghai property of Henry Alexander Ince. The correspondence reflect the nature of the business carried out by Ince with his agents including Oriental Bank Corporation, the Agra Bank, and with such bodies as London Insurance Corporation, Union Bank and the Municipal Council of Shanghai. Thus, building management, power attorney, and boundaries of the property are the main issues which were recorded. There are also memorandums of the cost position of the property. The correspondence books consist of copy correspondence whereas the correspondence files consist of both original letters and copies.
