Records of the Merionethshire Rivers Catchment Board, 1932-1960, including minute books, 1934-1954; financial records, 1932-1951; correspondence and related records, 1939-1951; Harlech and Maentwrog Internal Drainage District administrative records, 1938-1955; Mawddach and Union Internal Drainage District administrative records, 1939-1960; Ardudwy Marsh Internal Drainage Board correspondence and related records, 1940-1951; and miscellaneous papers, 1950-1954.

The Merionethshire Rivers Catchment Board was established by the Land Drainage Act 1930. The Board had responsibility for watercourses in the county while responsibility for drains lay with the internal drainage boards, including Harlech and Maentwrog, Mawddach and Union and Ardudwy Marsh Internal Drainage Districts. The River Boards Act, 1948, created water boards which took over the powers of catchment boards, fishing boards and pollution prevention authorities.
