Lieutenant Colonel Francis Robert Topping was born in c.1903 . He attended the University of Glasgow , Scotland, from 1920-1923 , and he graduated with a BSc in engineering in 1923 . During his time at university he studied engineering, higher draw and lab, mathematics, natural philosophy and chemistry. He appeared to live in Glasgow until c1950 before moving to Dumbarton, West Dunbartonshire, Scotland. Not much is known about his career history but at some point he became a member of one of the forces in order to receive his title of Lieutenant Colonel. The exact date of his death is unknown.
