Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
BHB Patents Ltd was incorporated as a limited liability company in 1908 with registered offices in Victoria Street, London, England, which it shared with the Victoria Agency Ltd , civil engineering contractors. The company was incorporated with a share capital of £2,000 and its directors were B H Bedell, Lawrence Weaver, who was office manager of the Victoria Agency Ltd, and Malcolm McAlpine, a director of Robert McAlpine & Sons , Clydebank, Scotland, that owned the Victoria Agency Ltd. The chief shareholders were Malcolm and his wife, Maud. In 1908, the company made a loan to Bedell and Weaver and this debt was repaid by 1910 in the form of shares transferred to Malcolm and Maud McAlpine. This appears to be the only business the company carried out. By 1912, the only shareholders in the company were the 2 McAlpines and Edward Robbins, company secretary and it was finally wound up 1939 having been dormant for a number of years.
