Minutes of the Merioneth Local Medical and Panel Committee, 1928-1934.

Administrative / Biographical History

Merioneth Local Medical and Panel Commitee was formed under the auspices of the National Health Insurance Act 1911, which created a system of publicly-funded general practioners available to low-paid workers. The Committee drew up a list of Panel Doctors who agreed to provide such services in return for a capitation fee. In 1934, the Committee was re-named Merioneth Local Medical Committee.
