Scope and Content

'A catalogue of the nobility of England since the Norman Conquest, according to their severall creations by every particular king.' There are one hundred and nine numbered pages, containing the names of nobles and their coats of arms. At the end of the volume is an index.

Acquisition Information

A note at the front of the volume indicates that it was given to Francis Townsend, Windsor herald, on 14 August 1799 by William Sheldon Esq. of Grays Inn, great-grandson of Ralph Sheldon Esq., cousin and male heir of the author. The volume later became no. 22010 in the collection of Sir Thomas Phillipps. Purchased by the Library from the executors of G.M. Macfarlane-Grieve, 1975.
