Contains: (1) ff.1-22: a catalogue of heresies, numbered 7-88; ends "Finis Catalogi: quanquam quod hic pollicetur Augustinus non prestat"; (2) ff.23-48: "Institutiones sodalitatis Beatae Mariae Virginis per Costerum" (begins "Circiter 1576 annu domini...", i.e. this is "Libellus Sodalitatis, Christianarum Institutionum libri V in gratiam Sodalitatis B. Virginis Mariae, Antwerp, 1587 etc."); (3) f.67: Edo: Westoni de officiis liber 1, (Antwerp, 1602); (4) ff.68-9: "Purchas his pilgrimage", 2 pages of notes and references (this work was issued from 1613 to 1626 with the full title "Purchas his pilgrimage or relations of the world and religions observed in all ages"); (5) ff. 73r, 82r, 87r, and 93-94: further odd jottings concerning Edward Weston and the Abyssinians in Africa amongst other subjects

Anthony Higgin (d. 1624), the son of Thomas Higgin of Manchester, was educated at St John's College, Cambridge, where he became a Fellow in 1574. In 1583 he became rector of Kirk Deighton near Wetherby in Yorkshire, and in 1608 he was appointed Dean of Ripon an appointment he held until his death. He collected books extensively throughout his life, and left them to the church at Ripon when he died. The surviving part of his collection, which numbers about 1250 volumes, is now preserved in Leeds University Library as part of Ripon Cathedral Library.
