Custodial History
Some of the manuscripts were acquired by Roberts during the course of his work; others, e.g. MSS 1256, 1258 and 1260, originally Maesyporth manuscripts, were probably obtained by Roberts through his marriage to Anne, daughter of Evan Lloyd, Maesyporth, Llangeinwen, Anglesey (Wynnstay MS 2, now in NLW, is also a Maesyporth manuscript). MS 1235 belonged to John Roberts's son, John (d. 1845), rector of Llangristiolus.
