Administrative / Biographical History

John Hughes was a joiner and contractor who lived at Bryn Hyfryd, Talwrn. He was born in Penrhos-lligwy and baptised in June 1864 at Penrhos-lligwy church, the son of Margaret and John, a "Cottager", of Ty pine. In October of 1891 he married Winifred Ann Thomas at Talwrn church and they had three children, Evan Rice, Jane Margaret and Helena Winnie. By 1939 John is describing himself as a farmer. He died and was buried in February 1948, aged 84, at Llanddyfnan church.
