Scope and Content

Walter Stanley, chaplain, of Writele grants to John Borell of the same, Agnes his wife, John James, chaplain of the chapel of Mary the Virgin at Writele, William Benett, chaplain of the chapel Mary the Virgin at Chelmsford, John Browne of the hamlet of Rokeswell, Writele, William Mathewe, Thomas Hawkyn, junior, of Writele and Thomas Sawall of Rokeswell certain land in Writele, which he had with certain others from the gift of Peter Saveryn of Southwark, Surrey, son and heir of Thomas Saveryn who once held them, the others having released the lands to Walter by deed dated 7 October 1452 [Doc 163], to them and their heirs for ever. Witnesses: William Bedell, William Parker, Stephen Coope, John Bregg, John Mundesone, Thomas Frende, John Litle, John Saveryn, John Heerde of Newnehey. One seal is attached.
