Scope and Content

Whereas by Letters patent dated 20 June 1579 the rectory and church of Whittlesford were let to Margaret Rampston, lately wife of Roger Askham, Giles Askham and Thomas Askham from the end of a term of twenty-one years for which they were let to Philip Hobbey for the term of the life of Margaret Askham with remainder to Giles Askham and Thomas Askham; the Queen on the petition of Dudley Askham, son of Roger Askham, grants Dudley Askham the yearly rent for life to his sole use so long as the lease lasts.
