Scope and Content

These are the records of the Amalgamated Engineering and Electrical Union which relate specifically to Hall Russell & Co. Ltd. and later to their successor A & P Appledore. They mostly consist of correspondence files although there are some minutes and loose pamphlets. The correspondence files have been arranged into general union correspondence, correspondence and papers generated between the Union, the Company and the Confederation of Shipbuilders Unions and those which are between miscellaneous bodies and relate to training and the intake of employees in particular.

Gifted to Aberdeen City & Aberdeenshire Archives by the former District Secretary of the AEEU in January 1996.
