Scope and Content

Joseph Gurney Bevan of London, Mary his wife, Wilson Birkbeck of the same and Hannah his wife let to John Thomas of the same a house in Wood Street in the city of London for a term of sixteen years at a yearly rent. The usual conditions as to keeping the premises in order and proviso for the arrears of rent follow. The agreement may be terminated at the desire of either party at the conclusion of the first two years or the first nine years. Witness: Hannah Plumsted. A schedule of fixtures follows. A second Indentured Agreement appears on the back of the third membrane. Whereas John Thomas has agreed to assign over the house to Richard Perry of Wood Street for the remainder of the term, and whereas Richard Perry has agreed to pay to the original lessors a certain sum in addition to the rent, John Thomas assigns the house to Richard Perry and the original lessors confirm it. Witnesses: Samuel Butley, Richard Phillips.Ten seals are attached.
