Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
Penrhyndeudraeth and Talsarnau stations, Merionethshire, were on the Aberystwyth and Welsh Coast Railway. Construction began on the railway from 1861, but it was not until after the railway was amalgamated with Cambrian Railways in 1865, that Penrhyndeudraeth and Talsarnau stations were opened. In 1922, Cambrian Railways became part of the Great Western Railway, which itself became the British Railways, Western Region in 1948. Both stations remain in use.
