John Chapman of London assigns to Thomas Adams of London, on payment by him of the residue of the original loan remaining unpaid, property and lands in the above places, which had been mortgaged by indenture dated 7 March 1654 by Sir John Pettus of Cheston Hall, Suffolk, and Samuel Sandys of Ombersley, Worcs. to John Chapman for a term of sixty-eight years. By a further indenture dated 2 Sept. 1657 Sir John Pettus and Samuel Sandys released to John Chapman all agreements for redemption during the term of the mortgage. Part of the principal and all the interest of the original loan had since been paid to John Chapman by the mortgagors. Sir John Pettus ratifies the assignment. Upon Sir John Pettus paying to Thomas Adams the residue of the original loan with interest Thomas Adams agrees to yield up the premises to him.
