Two of the children pictured are the aunt and uncle of the depositor. They are respectively Jean Thompson, then aged six (second row from back, sixth from right) and Frank G L (Lally) Thompson, then aged four (front row, second from right). Lally Thompson was killed during the Wormhout Massacre of unarmed British and French POWs in 1940, aged nineteen.
