The photograph was probably taken at Llandeilo in 1893 to celebrate John’s ordination as curate of St. Gabriel’s Church, Swansea. In 1893, William was 50 and Master of the Llandeilo Workhouse; Anne was 49, matron; Elizabeth, was 24; John was 22, curate; and William was 20, grocers assistant, Llandeilo.
