Contains: Bills for sheep, lambs and meat sold at Northleach, Gloucestershire 1924; sale notice of Northfield Farm, Great Shefford, Berkshire 1937; valuations of farms and other properties occupied by G and H Wilson 1937.

Administrative / Biographical History

The donor's grandfather bought land in 1906 for 8 an acre. He died in 1910, leaving thirteen children, and much land, although the family had little other wealth. Two of the children, Henry and George, formed a partnership to farm 12,000 acres. Three years after George's death in 1937, Henry's two sons, Harry and Andrew, entered the partnership. Harry's son took a course in agriculture at the University of Cambridge and Andrew's son now farms with his father.

Farm size etc: Shefford Farm, Great Shefford, Berkshire; Lower Farm, Beech Tree Hedge Farm, Puzzle Farm, Ilsley, Berkshire: 900 acres in all; Arlington Grange Farm, Arlington Grange: 160 acres; Crux Easton Farm, Crux Easton, Hampshire: 750 acres; Hilldrop Farm, Burney Farm, Pentico Farm, Park Farm, Noel Rudge Farm, Snapp Farm, Leigh Farm, Aldbourne, Wiltshire.
