This oral history collection comprises five interviews with people who came to Leicester after Idi Amin ordered the expulsion of Asian people from Uganda in 1972. These interviews were organised by Leicester City Museums in 2006 as part of a larger project with The National Archives.

The Moving Here partnership led by the National Archives is a consortium originally of 30 archives, libraries and museums contributing material to the catalogue of 200,000 items on the website. It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. Moving Here explores, records and illustrates why people came to England over the last 200 years and their experiences.
