Scope and Content

Partition by lots of the manor of Ellesfeld [Elsfield], Oxfordshire, between John and Joan Hore and Thomas and Joan Loundres, specifying lands which are to go to the former. A pond in the common fields is to be considered as joint property. Indenture, witnessed by William Mackeney, William Cok, John Heye, Henry Marckham, Adam ?On'wey, and many others. Two pendant red round seals (one damaged) with ?floral/wreath devices. Seventeenth-century identifying endorsement. In pencil at top-right: '13'. Contemporary addition at top-centre indicates that this is the Hores' share.
