The Rev. Cadwaladr Tawelfryn Thomas (1856-1939) was minister of the Congregational Church, Y Groes-wen, Glamorgan, 1880-1926. He was a hymn writer and had an interest in Welsh poetry, corresponding with many contemporary poets. He acquired some manuscripts of his friend William Cosslett (Gwilym Elian, 1831-1904), a colliery official at Hendredenny Colliery, near Caerphilly, and a successful local poet.
