Administrative / Biographical History
The Morgan family were builders, at West Street, Fishguard, Pembrokeshire, at the beginning of the 20th century, and they also owned Fishguard Sawmills and Joinery Works, and were builders' merchants and undertakers. John Morgan (d. 1950) was a leading member of Pentour Calvinistic Methodist Church, Fishguard, and of the North Pembrokeshire Presbytery, and his son, John J. Morgan (d. 1986), followed him as Secretary. J. J. Morgan was also a member of the Labour Party and was a County Councillor. In 1959 he married J. Carpenter of Milford Haven, another Labour activist.
