Minutes of Pembrokeshire Panel and Local Medical Committee, 1923-1956.

Administrative / Biographical History

Local Medical Committees were first recognised and given official functions by the National Insurance Act 1911. They were set up to represent GPs' interests locally. Under the scheme, a Panel of general practitioners in the area provided free medical treatment to those paying National Insurance contributions.
