Contains photocopies of correspondence, memoranda, minutes and news-cuttings, 1958-1960. Correspondence is chiefly with Bernard Storey and Gordon Tilsley, successive Town Clerks of Norwich at the time.

Administrative / Biographical History

Sir Arthur South was the Chairman of Norfolk Education Committee when steps were initiated in 1958 to campaign for the creation of a new university to be situated in East Anglia. He chaired preliminary meetings prior to the establishment of the Promotion Committee.
