Scope and Content

Whereas Richard Tufton of Westminster by Indenture of Lease dated 27 July 1668 [Doc 248] let to Charles Rampaine of Westminster certain land in Westminster; and whereas Richard Tufton by Indenture of Lease date 26 March 1669 [Doc 249] let to Charles Rampaine certain other land adjoining in Westminster, and Charles Rampaine has built certain houses upon the land; Richard Tufton, with the consent of Michael Brighouse of the Middle Temple, lets to Charles Rampaine the same pieces of land now made into one, except certain houses reserved to Richard Tufton, one piece for a term of sixteen years, one piece for a term of fifteen years, and the soil of the ditch for a term of forty-three years. Witnesses: for Richard Tufton: Thomas Benett, Margret Winn; for Michael Brighouse: Edward Thirkeld, William Beresford. Two seals are attached.
