Whereas before the marriage of George Hailey of Shefford and Ann his wife daughter of Thomas Squire of Shefford and Mary his wife it was agreed that Thomas Hailey should convey to George Hailey certain property in Shefford and pay to him a certain sum for the marriage portion of Ann Hailey; and whereas Thomas Squire has paid the sum; Thomas Squire releases to Richard Edwards the younger of the Inner Temple and John Day of the same certain property in Shefford being in their possession by Indenture of Lease dated the previous day, to them and their heirs to the use of George Hailey for life, after his death to the use of Ann Hailey for life, after her death to the use of George Hailey and his heirs for ever. Thomas Squire and Mary his wife agree to levy a fine of the property by a certain date. Witnesses: Thomas Bower, John Phillips. On the back of each copy are receipts for the consideration money signed by Thomas Squire and George Hailey. Witnesses: the same. Five seals are attached to each copy.
