Administrative / Biographical History
Reverend Peter Palmer Wood was born in 1936. He studied first at Nottingham University, and then at Bishops’ College, Cheshunt. He was ordained deacon in 1960 and priest in 1961.
He was appointed curate of Aldrington in Chichester between 1960 and 1964, and then curate of Brighton St Matthias between 1964 and 1967 and of Lewes St Anne between 1967 and 1970. In 1970 he was appointed curate of the Birmingham suburb of Quinton, a post he held for two years.
In 1972 he moved to Yorkshire where he was to spend the rest of his career. He was vicar of Kirkby Wharfe with Ulleskelf until 1985 and then of Riccall until his retirement, due to ill health, in 1994.
Reverend Wood died at York in October 1997.
