Administrative / Biographical History
Elizabeth (Betty) Aileen MacLeod (b. 1897) joined the VAD (Voluntary Aid Detachment) at Huntly Hospital, 1915, and attended Dartford Physical Education College in 1916. Her twin sister, Mary (Molly) Lilias MacLeod (b. 1897), attended Gipsy Hill Teaching College, Twickenham, before working at a boarding school in 1916 and later at Flanders Nurseries and the Women's National Land Service Camp at Yeovil. Both sisters lived at Cambridge and had attended the Atholl Crescent School of Domestic Economy in 1915.
