O. E. Roberts's Undeb Cymru Fydd Papers

A circular sent by O. E. Roberts to various Welsh societies in Cheshire and Lancashire regarding the state of Welsh life in various areas, the effect of the Second World War and future plans. Includes responses to the circular from Welsh societies in Blackburn, St. Helens, Ellesmere Port, Warrington, Crewe, Southport, Ashton-in-Makerfield and Birmingham.

Also, responses to another circular sent to MP's asking for their support towards a petition for an independent radio station for Wales during the BBC Charter question in 1946.

The Cymru Fydd (Wales to Be) society was established in London and Liverpool, primarily as a cultural and literary organisation and had many branches in Wales. However, in the 1890's, a group led by David Lloyd George attempted to turn the society into an umbrella organisation for the nationalist movement which was demanding a separate political institution for Wales.

O. E. Roberts was the Secretary of the Merseyside Branch of Undeb Cymru Fydd in the 1940's.
