The volume contains copies of letters and papers of General Granville Elliot, 1738-59, including both incoming and outgoing correspondence, notes and memoranda; with further correspondence between Francis Perceval Eliot (c.1756-1818, writer on finance) and his brother, Antoine Xavier Eliot, a French general, 1798-1814. The item also contains proofs of `Journal of the expeditions to the coast of France, 1758', from the ST GEORGE'S GAZETTE (the regimental paper of the Fifth Fusiliers), 1898 (1 vol.).
