Scope and Content

Copy of will of John Smith of Chatteris, schoolmaster. Messuages in Chatteris, after decease of Margaret his wife, are left in trust to Robert Grimditch, who is to sell some and from the proceeds to pay stated sums to testator's daughters Francis Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Ann Smith and Margaret Smith, remainder to be shared equally among them and his other children, Mary wife of Jonathan Ilett, John Smith, Richard Smith and Robert Smith. All other possessions are left to testator's wife Margaret Smith who is appointed executrix. Witnessed by Edward Ruston, Robert Peterson, and Thomas Grimditch.
