Administrative / Biographical History

Henry Dubs, the founder of Dubs & Co , Glasgow, was born in Germany in 1816  . He established Dubs & Co, the locomotive engineering company, in 1863  and produced many locomotives. Dubs died in 1876  , and the firm was managed by William Lorimer until the company merged with Neilson Reid & Co Ltd, and Sharp Stewart & Sons Ltd in 1903 to form the North British Locomotive Works.
