Scope and Content

The newsletter was launched as a tool to communicate with Gallery supporters, such as members, patrons and associates. In its most recent incarnation it is produced 3 or 4 times a year.

Administrative / Biographical History

In April 1996 the 'NPG Newsletter' was launched. It was produced in black and white on A4 format. This newsletter ceased after 5 issues.

After the re-development in 2000 the Gallery launched a new series, now for the members of the Gallery under title 'NPG Members' Newsletter'. This new publication was printed in colour in A4 format. Production ceased after 5 issues in early 2002.

In spring 2002 , the newsletter was re-launched under the title 'Face to Face - Gallery News'. Since the Spring 2002 (1) issue, it is produced 3 or 4 times a year, once a season, i.e. Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. It contains the regular column 'My Favorite Portrait' in which a public figures discusses their favorite object in the Gallery along with curatorial articles on current exhibitions and displays and a report on outreach activities. Since 2011 Face to Face has changed from an A4 format to A5 but it retains most design features from the larger versions.
