Administrative / Biographical History

Robert CLOUGH of Hockwold, Norfolk was born in 1700 and educated at Bury St. Edmunds and Caius College, Cambridge. He was admitted a barrister of Gray's Inn 1721 June 22 and subsequently became Lord of the Manor of Badwell Ash and Feltwell, Norfolk. He was married to Mary, second daughter of Jermyn Wyche ( -1719) of Hockwold, Norfolk. He died at Feltwell on 1777 February 24. Cyril CLOUGH was the son of Robert CLOUGH. He was educated at Ely and at Caius College Cambridge. He became a priest in the Diocese of Norwich 1764 September 23 and was rector of Southery, Norfolk 1764 - 1782; of Gaywood, Norfolk 1782 - 1805 and of Stradsett, Norfolk 1794 - 1805. He died 1805 December 11 and was apparently survived by a wife and two daughters
