Scope and Content

In typescript, 52 folios. (fo. 1) Extracts from the diary of Bishop E. Cridge covering his marriage and departure from England for Victoria, Vancouver Island, September - October 1854; (fo. 1) reminiscences of Bishop Cridge from the time of his arrival in Vancouver Island by Edgar Fawcett. A notice of the Bishop by J.D.H. Dickson, further extracts from the Bishop's diary, and an obituary notice and account of his funeral from two local newspapers are added; (fo. 33) list of members of the Reformed Episcopal Church of Vancouver Island at its formation under Bishop E. Cridge in 1874. On fo. 13 is a photograph of Bishop Cridge and his wife in old age, and on fo. 17* a photograph of Christ Church, Victoria, taken in 1860. On fo. i in E. Fawcett's hand: 'Cambridge University Musical Society with the complements of the Author, Victoria B.C. June 20/23'. Before the word 'Musical' J.D.H. Dickson has pencilled and initialled 'Peterhouse'.
