Tithe survey of Eakring, Nottinghamshire; 1831

The volume was once bound, but the spine and covers have come off and it is now unbound with no cover or title page.

The survey covers the whole parish of Eakring and gives details of all landowners there. It is arranged according to the names of each landowner, with columns giving details of the name of the occupier of each parcel of land; its number on a plan [the plan is not present]; a description of the parcel of land; the number of lands [strips in open fields], making up each parcel; the cultivation of the land in 1831; its acreage; and the annual value of tithes for each parcel.

In the 1830s and 1840s the advowson of the parish of Eakring was shared between Earl Manvers and the Earl of Scarborough. It is not known who created this volume. The tithes in the parish were commuted in 1840.

No archival arrangement has been necessary.
