Diary of work as Assistant Conservator of Forests in Paphos and Kykko Forests, Cyprus, 1922-1925; alphabetical list of forests in Cyprus, 1922; papers relating to work in the Colonial Forest Service, 1930s-1940s, consisting of memoranda, reports and notes on soil erosion and conservation in Palestine, with associated printed material.

Administrative / Biographical History

Gilbert Noel Sale (b 1897) worked as Assistant Conservator, Forests, Cyprus from 1922, Director (later Conservator), Mauritius from 1928, Conservator, Palestine from 1936 and Trinidad from 1946. He was a member of the committee of enquiry into the economic state of Rodriguez, 1929 and Chairman, the Palestine Soil Conservation Board, 1940-1946.
